Pink Blush Maternity

This is my last plus size maternity clothing blog post, considering I have already given birth to my son (there will be future posts regarding that). I took these pictures prior to giving birth but the last month has been so crazy that I didn’t get a chance to post this. I apologize for that, but if you’ve ever been in your last weeks of pregnancy and the first few weeks of taking care of a newborn, I’m sure you can understand.

Pink Blush carries straight sizes, plus sizes, straight size maternity, and plus size maternity. I’d say I’m sometimes on the higher end of a 3X, most definitely when it comes to dresses, and their size 3X fits me perfectly. They have great functional and trendy pieces regardless of your size.

This first dress is perfect for the winter weather. You could add a scarf, leggings or tights, and booties for a cute cool weather look. The floral is more of a fall/winter pattern because of the pretty burgundy background. It’s actually one of my favorite colors to wear right now. I did switch out the belt for one of my own because the belt that came with the dress was a little snug on me. But both belts are very similar in color. The fabric is soft and comfy. This dress would be a great staple in anyone’s closet!

I’ve already worn this hoodie a bunch of times because I love it so much! You can easily pair or with leggings or jeans for a casual look. The lace detail on top gives it a little interest while still allowing you the comfort of a hoodie. The length of this is really nice, even for post-pregnancy when you’re not back to your pre-pregnancy body. I love the blue color. I’d highly recommend this piece!

The last item is this long cardigan with sequin elbow patches. I’m a huge fan of adding some sparkle to an outfit. This is an unexpected way to throw some shine into your look. This cardigan gives serious winter comfort vibes while still being chic. This sweater is so comfortable and can be worn over a dress or with leggings/jeans and a tank top. Obviously, open front cardigans aren’t specific to maternity wear. So this is something you can wear pregnant or not. I really liked buying pieces while pregnant that I’d still be able to wear afterwards.

A Dash of Sparkle

Maybe it’s because I’m into simplicity being 34 weeks pregnant, but this has to be one of my favorite looks I’ve put together this Fall. The top is a pretty blush pink cold shoulder sweater. It’s deceptively warm so don’t let the light color fool you. The cut is perfect for me. I got this in a size 3X from JCPenney on sale and I plan on wearing it well through the winter!

I paired the shirt with these cropped destructed jeans from Torrid. These are in a size 26 to accommodate my growing baby belly. I also purchased these during a clearance sale a couple months ago. They feature a four button closure, which seems to be working better for me through my pregnancy than zippers have been.

The shoes are breathtaking!!! I had been eyeing this pair from ASOS for about a month and finally decided to purchase them. They are a size 11W and fit pretty well even with my slightly swollen feet. I like that they slip on rather than tie. I’m a huge fan of sparkly things and I think it’s a way to add interest to a simple outfit, especially when it’s somewhere unexpected like on your feet!

Super Affordable Maternity Clothes!

I’ve been working so hard to find more affordable plus size maternity brands to review! It’s tough out there because if something is available in plus sizes, the clothes end up being super expensive, and if they’re affordable then the brand only goes up to a size Large. It has been a struggle for me because there are so few brands making plus size maternity clothing! If I was a fashion designer, I’d probably start with Plus Size Maternity because there’s a demand for it and very little available.

Luckily, I was able to collaborate with a great affordable brand, Great Expectations Maternity. Their line is available at WalMart, making it super accessible to the masses! The three tops they sent to me are only $15 each, making it probably the most affordable maternity brand I’ve come across! Their clothes go from a size small to a 2XL. While I wish they went up to larger sizes like 3XL or 4XL, their 2XL did fit me well. So I’d say they are pretty true to size since I was wearing 2X shirts prior to being pregnant.

I got the same style shirt in gray and a blush pink color with a fun pattern. Both of these feature a small keyhole on the neckline and a little tassel tie detail. They are made with an empire waist, which is very flattering for a pregnant woman. These tops will be perfect for Fall and early Winter because of the long sleeves. The fabric is very soft and comfortable.

The last shirt is going to be perfect for the Holiday season because of the bright red hue. The last detail on the shoulders is simple but gorgeous, making it more than just a plain boring shirt. There is some rouching along the sides, making sure there’s plenty of room for a pregnant belly. This is a great piece to wear for comfort while still looking stylish.

The Blanket Cardigan

I’ve seen a lot of variations of the blanket cardigan lately and thought it was about time I tried this trend myself. This cardigan is from Lovesick. I saw a similar one at Torrid but by the time I placed my order, they were sold out in my size. So when I saw that Lovesick had a similar one, I was pumped.

Of course, I bought this on sale for only $13! I did decide to belt this because without it, the cardigan gave my body no shape whatsoever. I had this big black belt from a shirt I had bought a few years ago and it complimented it so perfectly.

I paired the cardigan with a pair of skinny jeans from Burlington Coat Factory and my go-to booties from Shoe Department. I also featured my purse in one of these shots. It is a Coach purse, but it was a gift two years ago from my husband. I don’t advocate buying super expensive purses, but when it is a gift, I’m 100% ok with it!

This look is so chic and will definitely keep you warm on a cold Winter day. It was my first time ordering from Lovesick and they did have some great deals. Lovesick is like the cheaper version of Torrid, in my opinion. I was pleased with my order from them and would recommend them to anyone who wants Torrid style without the price!

Military Inspired Jackets are Perfection

I’ve always had a weird relationship with winter jackets. Usually in order for them to fit me correctly in the arms/chest/shoulder region, the last button around my hip area is snug. The perks of being a pear shaped woman! Also, because of my size, I usually have to settle for a boring jacket just because I want to be kept warm. Well not this year!

On Black Friday, I looked around for the best deals I could find. I had a great Haul from Fashion to Figure in the Fall and saw they were having a really good sale. As soon as I saw this jacket, I fell in love with it! Plus it was on sale for only $35! It was an original $70! I knew I had to have it. The jacket comes in gray, black, and red. Personally, black jackets as a dog owner is just not an option unless you want to be cleaning it constantly. I did go through a red jacket phase a couple years ago so I didn’t feel I needed another one. The gray color was so classy looking and the buttons really give it some style.

Military inspired jackets are a hot trend right now and I feel like it’s easy to see why. I love the way the silver buttons pop and give a nod to an old military uniform. The flair at the hip is perfect for my pear shape. I ordered this in a 3x. It is a tiny bit big in the arms, but the fact that it fits my hips and isn’t snug makes me so happy! Unfortunately, this jacket is currently sold out on their website but you should visit their site and see the other things they have!

Fluffy Vests are Where It’s At!!

My latest obsession for the Winter weather is fluffy vests!

This vest in particular is from Target. I believe it was an original $30-35, but it was on sale for $18. My cousin and friend, Kristin, was at Target and asked if I would want one of these vests that were on sale. She had seen the one I bought from G Stage Love, and since this one was similar, it reminded her of me.

I wore it for the first time yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. It kept me extremely warm throughout the day and was super comfortable. The inside lining is very fluffy and soft.

The only thing I did have a slight issue with was that the inside did shed, so even though it looks good, I probably wouldn’t wear it with a black shirt underneath because of that. I’d probably wear it with a white shirt instead. It was easy to lint roll the shredded parts off so it wasn’t a big deal but if you want a no fuss look, I’d opt for a lighter colored shirt. I paired this with YMI skinny jeans and gray boots also from Target. This look is comfy chic and very appropriate for a casual holiday style or an everyday outfit!
