A Dash of Sparkle

Maybe it’s because I’m into simplicity being 34 weeks pregnant, but this has to be one of my favorite looks I’ve put together this Fall. The top is a pretty blush pink cold shoulder sweater. It’s deceptively warm so don’t let the light color fool you. The cut is perfect for me. I got this in a size 3X from JCPenney on sale and I plan on wearing it well through the winter!

I paired the shirt with these cropped destructed jeans from Torrid. These are in a size 26 to accommodate my growing baby belly. I also purchased these during a clearance sale a couple months ago. They feature a four button closure, which seems to be working better for me through my pregnancy than zippers have been.

The shoes are breathtaking!!! I had been eyeing this pair from ASOS for about a month and finally decided to purchase them. They are a size 11W and fit pretty well even with my slightly swollen feet. I like that they slip on rather than tie. I’m a huge fan of sparkly things and I think it’s a way to add interest to a simple outfit, especially when it’s somewhere unexpected like on your feet!

It’s Finally Fall!

Cooler Fall weather is finally here and I could not be happier! Not only is it my favorite time of year but it means I can break out some cute cozy clothes. It’s also great, being almost 30 weeks pregnant, that I won’t be sweating in the summer heat anymore!

This look is early Fall perfection. This gray Rue 21 hoodie has beautiful rose embroidery on the hood. Embroidery and florals are still on trend going into the Fall. The sweatshirt is cropped and the neckline has an exaggerated overlap. I wore a plain white tank underneath just to give myself some extra length but you could definitely pair it with a pair of high waisted jeans. The clutch is also from Rue 21. It’s black with some simple silver studs, making it perfect to use with almost any outfit.

The capri distressed jeans and sandals are both from Torrid. I believe the jeans are Boyfriend cut, which fit me really well. I love that the distressing isn’t too overwhelming but still add to the overall style of the look. My only complaint is that the rolled cuff is not sewn, so when I wash these jeans I have to re-roll them before putting them on. But they are extremely comfortable and cute, so I can deal with it!

End of Summer Swimsuit Review

Obviously, it is the end of the summer, which means a few things:

1. You may be able to pick up some swimsuits for SUPER cheap and keep them for next year

2. This review will be helpful if you’re going on vacation to a warmer climate over the next six months or so

3. This information may be something to keep in mind when shopping next summer!

I’m doing this review now because I was finally able to wear all of the suits I got this year. I live in PA, so unless I’m on vacation or am visiting a friend with a pool, there aren’t many occasions to wear a swimsuit. We will go from cheapest to most expensive.

This was actually the first one I purchased this past year. It is a great one piece from Rue 21. The cut out in the front and the strappy open back give it more interest than a plain one piece. I usually am uncomfortable showing so much of my back. But there’s something about how the back is made that made me feel very secure in it. The top straps are adjustable, which I love because I don’t have a large chest. There is a little bit of padding in the chest, but that is removable if that’s not your cup of tea. The pattern on top is so pretty and goes great with the burgundy bottom. This suit definitely draws the eye upward, making it great for a pear or apple shape. I believe this one was around $30 and it is in a size 3X.

I must have been into one pieces this year because I fell in love with this one from Torrid. I love the pattern on the top and the pop of color. My only complaint about the fit is that I had to size up to a size 4 because of how restrictive their swimsuits are, so the chest is a little large on me. It’s not super noticeable, but I wish the cups were a tad bit smaller. The straps on this one are adjustable and convertible. So if you want cross cross straps, a halter, or straight front and back straps, you can make that happen. I happened to catch this one during a swim sale back in April. I got it for around $65. I was willing to pay a little more for it because the quality is amazing and I know it will last for years.

This black and white retro suit is the only two piece I purchased this year. It is also from Torrid and I got this one on sale as well. I believe I paid about $75 for this one. That is normally way more than I’d invest in a swimsuit, but when I tried it on in store, I knew I had to buy it. I did buy it prior to knowing I was pregnant, so it doesn’t fit quite as well as it did in store, but I made it work. The top has a built in bra, which makes you feel very secure. It has the same adjustable and convertible straps the one piece has. Since it is two pieces, I got a size 3 in the top and a size 4 on the bottom. The chest on this fits me better because I was able to get a smaller top. The material is slightly textures and it has an adorable scallop detail. I really love this one!

The last swimsuit was not purchased by me. I won it via an Instagram giveaway from Becca Etc Swim. It’s so gorgeous. I believe this one was around $130, which is crazy to me! But it’s an amazing one piece swimsuit. The color is one of my favorites and the lace is delicate but durable. I’m sure if you bought a cheaper lace suit, it would probably fall apart rather quickly. Their website does have cheaper options though, so make sure you don’t overlook this brand. This was in a size 3X.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post. I’ll link websites below and you can either see if they have any swim sales or tuck the info away for next year. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Boardwalk Style

My husband, Stephen, and I are on vacation this week and I’ve been looking forward to it all summer! We tend to vacation in late August or September due to the cheaper rates and less crowds. I’m going to try to share as many new outfits with you as possible on this beach trip.

Tonight we took a trip to the boardwalk just to do some walking, which is good for my fellow pregnant ladies, to play mini golf, get some dinner, and then ice cream. This outfit was comfortable and stylish for an evening on the boardwalk. The Capri jeans and black sandals are both from Torrid. The black sandals were bought last year on clearance and still have a ton of wear left. The jeans are new. I bought them during a recent 50% off clearance sale. They’re more of a dark wash and have distressing in the thigh/knee area. I believe they are their skinny jean fit, which happens to fit my pregnant belly perfectly. Instead of a zipper, they have a four button closure, which in my opinion makes them more roomy and comfortable.

The shirt is from Forever 21. You may have seen it in a YouTube Inside the Dressing Room of mine from about a month or so ago. I’m in love with the mesh and Lace sleeves. It gives this otherwise casual shirt a little something extra. The rose graphic is a pretty blush color, which was perfect to pair with this clutch from Stitch Fix and my sunnies from Rue 21. Blush is still in style and I’m incorporating it more and more into my wardrobe.

All Dressed Up in Torrid

Torrid and I are in a relationship. Sometimes I will go months without making a purchase, other times I’ll make multiple purchases in a month. A lot of it ends up being based on their selection and if it fits into my personal style or not. Lately, I’ve been in love with a lot of their pieces.

I loved the pattern of this dress. The print is different from what I would normally gravitate towards, but I think it keeps a basic silhouette more interesting. The straps are adjustable, which I really appreciate. There is an elastic element in the back, but other than that the material is linen-like and does not stretch. I got this in a 3X during their Haute Cash sale.

The jean jacket is just…perfection. I can pair it with so many different things in my closet this Spring. Since it has short sleeves, it is great to wear in the warm weather. I tend to prefer a dark wash jean, so I’m pleased with the shade. This is in a 2X. I thought about sizing up because I don’t have a whole lot of extra room around the arms, but when I made my purchase, they only had a 2X left. It does stretch, so it’s not a big deal. I also bought this during their Haute Cash sale.

I purchased the sandals last summer in this nude shade and in black. I bought them both on sale and they’ve held up so well. I wear them all the time because they’re so comfortable for my wide foot. By far, my favorite sandals I own! Overall, this look is comfortable but very put together for the Spring weather!

Valentine’s Day Style

I’m going to make this post short and sweet. Everyone wants to look good and feel special on Valentine’s Day. Whether you’re single and celebrating with some friends or you’re in a committed relationship going to dinner, this is one day that you want to look good.

I chose to wear this beautiful red dress from Torrid. I’m so in love with the shape and color. This dress actually was a tiny bit large on me, but I got it on Clearance for about $10! So I couldn’t say no! It has a great flowy skirt and a high neckline. It is made of a pointe material, so it is a little thicker which makes it perfect in the cold weather!

I paired it with black tights, booties, a black shrug, and a pretty necklace from JCPenney. Overall, the look is fun but classic. I wore this to work and received so many compliments! No matter what you’re doing today, I hope that you have some fun!

Patches Galore!

This is something popular when I was a child, and as trends tend to do, we have circled back around to them: patches. I’ve seen them on shirts, jackets, pants, you name it. Personally, I think just a dash of patches is cute. Too many, and I feel like you look like an arts and craft project gone wrong!

I got this sweater from Torrid. They were having a 50% off Clearance sale plus I had my $10 Birthday cash to use. Total for this sweater, I paid $11. It was such a great deal for a comfy cute sweater! I love the gray marled look of the sweater and it fits my perfectly. It does have a bit of a wide neckline, which is flattering on a lot of women. There are three patches and I think they add a really cute element to the look.

I paired this with a black plain tank underneath for a more layered look, skinny jeans, and my black boots. Overall, this look would be perfect for a low key night out or just sitting around the house in front of a fire!

The Blanket Cardigan

I’ve seen a lot of variations of the blanket cardigan lately and thought it was about time I tried this trend myself. This cardigan is from Lovesick. I saw a similar one at Torrid but by the time I placed my order, they were sold out in my size. So when I saw that Lovesick had a similar one, I was pumped.

Of course, I bought this on sale for only $13! I did decide to belt this because without it, the cardigan gave my body no shape whatsoever. I had this big black belt from a shirt I had bought a few years ago and it complimented it so perfectly.

I paired the cardigan with a pair of skinny jeans from Burlington Coat Factory and my go-to booties from Shoe Department. I also featured my purse in one of these shots. It is a Coach purse, but it was a gift two years ago from my husband. I don’t advocate buying super expensive purses, but when it is a gift, I’m 100% ok with it!

This look is so chic and will definitely keep you warm on a cold Winter day. It was my first time ordering from Lovesick and they did have some great deals. Lovesick is like the cheaper version of Torrid, in my opinion. I was pleased with my order from them and would recommend them to anyone who wants Torrid style without the price!

Fancy Pants

As soon as I saw these pants on Torrid’s website, I knew I had to have them. On the website, they did look a little more on the bright teal side. In real life, they look like more of a dark real, leaning more towards green. Since they are a ponte pant and are meant to give you a slim silhouette, they were a little difficult to put on. But once they are on, they hold you in at all the right places and give you such a flat tummy! I’m so in love with the fit and how slim they make my legs look. I bought them on sale for $25 in a size 3.

The black babydoll shirt is a great compliment to these pants. It’s simple with just a tiny bit of rouching in the center. It’s long enough to cover your butt and the A-line flair is so Figure flattering! I also love the sleeve length. It hits just above the elbow, which is perfect for me. This was on sale for about $20 and it’s in a size 2.

For me, this look was out of my comfort zone. I’ve never owned a pair of pants that weren’t black, gray, or jeans. I’m so glad I took a chance on these and I can’t wait to wear them again! This is what the new year is all about: trying new things and being bold! I encourage all of you to do the same!

All Sparkly for NYE

One thing I have always felt strongly about is wearing something sparkly on New Years Eve. Whether it’s just a detail on the shirt I’m wearing or just a piece of jewelry, I try to incorporate into my look each year. I learned yesterday that my sister-in-law’s family had a tradition on NYE, where all the ladies would sit down and show each other what parts of their outfit were sparkly. I think that’s so adorable!

As soon as I saw this skirt, I was hooked! It is from Torrid and I’m wearing it in a size 3x. They were having a sale when I bought, so I paid $28 and it was absolutely worth it. The gold/copper color is beautiful. The way it is made really suits my Figure because of the wise waistband and the flair at the bottom. Also, if you’re worried about glitter straying from the skirt, the fallout for me was minimal. It looks like the sparkly material was sort of woven into the fabric, so it won’t shed too much. I did get a little on my hands from putting it on but that didn’t bother me much. Of course, I have to mention it has pockets! We all know how much I love pockets of a dress or skirt!

I paired it with a black off the shoulder shirt with lace detail. I got the shirt from G Stage Love for $12 I believe. This is also in a 3x because their clothes run a little on the smaller side. The lace of the shirt is just gorgeous. You can dress it up or down depending on the occasion.

I also wore a new pair of black leggings from Torrid. These were also on sale for $15. They have a thick waistband and really hold you in. These are their premium leggings, which are the first pair I’ve owned from Torrid and I’d highly recommend them!
