Pink Blush Maternity

This is my last plus size maternity clothing blog post, considering I have already given birth to my son (there will be future posts regarding that). I took these pictures prior to giving birth but the last month has been so crazy that I didn’t get a chance to post this. I apologize for that, but if you’ve ever been in your last weeks of pregnancy and the first few weeks of taking care of a newborn, I’m sure you can understand.

Pink Blush carries straight sizes, plus sizes, straight size maternity, and plus size maternity. I’d say I’m sometimes on the higher end of a 3X, most definitely when it comes to dresses, and their size 3X fits me perfectly. They have great functional and trendy pieces regardless of your size.

This first dress is perfect for the winter weather. You could add a scarf, leggings or tights, and booties for a cute cool weather look. The floral is more of a fall/winter pattern because of the pretty burgundy background. It’s actually one of my favorite colors to wear right now. I did switch out the belt for one of my own because the belt that came with the dress was a little snug on me. But both belts are very similar in color. The fabric is soft and comfy. This dress would be a great staple in anyone’s closet!

I’ve already worn this hoodie a bunch of times because I love it so much! You can easily pair or with leggings or jeans for a casual look. The lace detail on top gives it a little interest while still allowing you the comfort of a hoodie. The length of this is really nice, even for post-pregnancy when you’re not back to your pre-pregnancy body. I love the blue color. I’d highly recommend this piece!

The last item is this long cardigan with sequin elbow patches. I’m a huge fan of adding some sparkle to an outfit. This is an unexpected way to throw some shine into your look. This cardigan gives serious winter comfort vibes while still being chic. This sweater is so comfortable and can be worn over a dress or with leggings/jeans and a tank top. Obviously, open front cardigans aren’t specific to maternity wear. So this is something you can wear pregnant or not. I really liked buying pieces while pregnant that I’d still be able to wear afterwards.

A Dash of Sparkle

Maybe it’s because I’m into simplicity being 34 weeks pregnant, but this has to be one of my favorite looks I’ve put together this Fall. The top is a pretty blush pink cold shoulder sweater. It’s deceptively warm so don’t let the light color fool you. The cut is perfect for me. I got this in a size 3X from JCPenney on sale and I plan on wearing it well through the winter!

I paired the shirt with these cropped destructed jeans from Torrid. These are in a size 26 to accommodate my growing baby belly. I also purchased these during a clearance sale a couple months ago. They feature a four button closure, which seems to be working better for me through my pregnancy than zippers have been.

The shoes are breathtaking!!! I had been eyeing this pair from ASOS for about a month and finally decided to purchase them. They are a size 11W and fit pretty well even with my slightly swollen feet. I like that they slip on rather than tie. I’m a huge fan of sparkly things and I think it’s a way to add interest to a simple outfit, especially when it’s somewhere unexpected like on your feet!

It’s Finally Fall!

Cooler Fall weather is finally here and I could not be happier! Not only is it my favorite time of year but it means I can break out some cute cozy clothes. It’s also great, being almost 30 weeks pregnant, that I won’t be sweating in the summer heat anymore!

This look is early Fall perfection. This gray Rue 21 hoodie has beautiful rose embroidery on the hood. Embroidery and florals are still on trend going into the Fall. The sweatshirt is cropped and the neckline has an exaggerated overlap. I wore a plain white tank underneath just to give myself some extra length but you could definitely pair it with a pair of high waisted jeans. The clutch is also from Rue 21. It’s black with some simple silver studs, making it perfect to use with almost any outfit.

The capri distressed jeans and sandals are both from Torrid. I believe the jeans are Boyfriend cut, which fit me really well. I love that the distressing isn’t too overwhelming but still add to the overall style of the look. My only complaint is that the rolled cuff is not sewn, so when I wash these jeans I have to re-roll them before putting them on. But they are extremely comfortable and cute, so I can deal with it!

I Love A Good Sale!

If you have read my blog for any length of time, there are a few things you already know about me: I love to look chic, I enjoy being comfortable, and I cannot pass up a good deal on clothes!

This black sweater dress is perfect in so many ways. The 3/4 length sleeves are perfect for the cooler weather, the stripes and give the dress a little texture, and I only paid about $12 for it! Lane Bryant was having a sale: clearance items were buy one, get one for $5. This dress was an original $90! With the sale and gift card I had from my Birthday, it was such a steal! This is in a size 22/24 and it fits my pear shape so well. In fact, I also purchased this dress in red!

The leggings are not a recent purchase, but they were also a good deal. They are made of a soft buttery fabric, making them a dream to wear. I got them over the summer at Burlington Coat Factory for only $6!

There’s nothing wrong with pairing something more simple with a piece that’s more fun. That’s exactly what I did, wearing a fun Aztec print legging with a simple black sweater dress. The overall look is chic but whimsical at the same time.

Patches Galore!

This is something popular when I was a child, and as trends tend to do, we have circled back around to them: patches. I’ve seen them on shirts, jackets, pants, you name it. Personally, I think just a dash of patches is cute. Too many, and I feel like you look like an arts and craft project gone wrong!

I got this sweater from Torrid. They were having a 50% off Clearance sale plus I had my $10 Birthday cash to use. Total for this sweater, I paid $11. It was such a great deal for a comfy cute sweater! I love the gray marled look of the sweater and it fits my perfectly. It does have a bit of a wide neckline, which is flattering on a lot of women. There are three patches and I think they add a really cute element to the look.

I paired this with a black plain tank underneath for a more layered look, skinny jeans, and my black boots. Overall, this look would be perfect for a low key night out or just sitting around the house in front of a fire!

OOTD 10/26/16

If you’ve read some of my previous blogs, you know I love a good sweater dress. This sweater dress is on a whole new level with its lovely intricate pattern. I bought it from Fashion to Figure on sale for $26. I love the sleeve length and it’s very comfy. I paired it with black leggings from Burlington Coat Factory.

Now let’s talk about the shoes! I’m in love with these black slip on booties from Shoe Department. They have about an inch and a half wedge and have a narrow rounded toe. They are a faux suede material and are surprisingly comfortable. And they were only $25! I’m obsessed with them and may get another pair in taupe in a few weeks!

Sweater Dresses!

One thing that is a great addition to your closet for Fall- the sweater dress! Dress it up with tights and booties or dress it down with leggings and flats! This sweater dress is from Boohoo, which is a UK clothing company. The dress was an original $20, but I got it for $12! It’s very comfortable and breatheable, yet the long sleeves will keep you warm enough in the cool fall weather. It’s just…perfect. Boohoo has great sales that alternate between 40% and 50% off, making them a great place for plus size women to shop! I paired the dress with simple black leggings from WalMart, black flats from Payless, and a silver pendant necklace from Primark.
