The Kate Middington Skirt

I am so in love with this skirt from Society+. The cut would be gorgeous on a variety of different body types. The length is perfect. It hits about mid-calf on me and I’m about 5’7″. I love that the pleats give the skirt a little bit of volume without it being too overwhelming.

The quality is tremendous. There is a side zipper and pockets! The skirt comes in a variety of different colors, so you can pick the one that best fits your style.

I paired the skirt with a black bodysuit from JCPenney and black pointed toe flats from Lane Bryant. I love that this look has a slightly vintage feel with a modern flair of the criss cross bodysuit. It’s appropriate for the office but you could also dress it down with a chambray shirt or a crop top. This is definitely a versatile piece that would be a great addition to anyone’s closet.

A huge thank you to Society+ for sending me this piece to review on my blog for you guys!

A Piece Named for Me!

If you’ve Been following me for some time, you already know that Society+ had a contest I entered back in January. It was their New Year, New Motto contest and I was one of the winners. My prize was to have one of their summer collection pieces named after me. I’ve been anxiously awaiting what the piece would be, what it would look like, and if I’d like it.

They announced it a few days ago and I’m in love! It’s this gorgeous crane print kimono. I’ve just started getting into the kimono trend and was actually looking for some new ones this past week. So naturally, I ordered it the day after I saw it! I can’t wait to get it and I’ll definitely show it off to you guys! Society+ is a great brand so I have full confidence that it will be made beautifully and fit me well!

The Perfect LBD

If you’ve seen my Instagram or any other blog posts, it’s probably clear that Society+ has quickly become one of my all time favorite brands. I could talk about them all day: about how their mission perfectly aligns with supporting plus size women, how they’re trying to change the fashion industry from within, how they use real plus size women on their website to feature their clothes. Needless to say, I’d give them all my money if I could. Plus their clothes are impeccably made and well worth the price.

I got this dress during their Valentine’s Day sale and was waiting for an occasion to wear it. If you saw my Haul video, you know I immediately fell in love with this dress! It’s a size 22/24. The silhouette is perfect for a pear shaped woman like myself. And it has pockets!!! I love a good dress with pockets. I do wish you could see the print better in the photos, but it has a very subtle black damask print. It gives the dress a nice texture. The dress was the perfect length, just a tiny bit past my knees!

I paired this piece with some rose gold jewelry because I’m in love with rose gold everything at the moment, and a pair of black sandals. I would have worn heels but I’m still dealing with a knee injury, so I opted for the more comfortable shoe. I wore this to see Travis Wall Presents Shaping Sound, one of the best dance presentations I have ever seen. The tickets were my Birthday present from my husband and I enjoyed every minute of it!

I Wore A Tutu For Christmas

That’s right! Of all the wardrobe options I had, I chose to wear a tutu for Christday Day! Why is a 30 year old wearing a tutu, you may ask? Well, if you have to ask that question, you haven’t tried one on! There’s something so delicate but fun about wearing an all tulle skirt. If you haven’t put one on in your adult life, please do yourself a favor and try it. It’s an indescribable feeling of youth, fun, flirtiness, and chic-ness!

The tulle black skirt is from Society+, one of my new favorite companies. If you haven’t heard of them, I can’t say enough good things about them! They are a great company that promotes body positivity by using real diverse women as models, they have an honest size guarantee, and they love giving back to their customers with lots of giveaways and some good sales. The tulle skirt retails for $80, but I got it on sale during their Black Friday event. It was 40% off and I had a gift card on top of it! It’s well made with a very stretchy waist band. I ordered it in a size 22/24 and it fits me so well!

I paired the skirt with a gray cropped sweater by Ashley Nell Tipton from the Boutique+ line at JCPenney. It is so comfortable and I got so many compliments on the shoulder detail. The pearls and rhinestone shoulder is a show stopper! It really added a little glitz to my holiday look. This is a 2x and I believe the original price was $39. I got it on sale for about $27.

Just to finish off the look, I wore some black opaque tights from WalMart and my black booties from Shoe Department. Overall, I felt so good in this look and could not wait to share it with all of you! The most important part of fashion is to feel good in your clothes and remember to have fun!
