I have heard that plus sized women shouldn’t wear horizontal stripes because it makes you look wider. False! I have honestly never found this to be true. In my experience, it can accentuate your curves in a good way!
This dress from JCPenney is a Fall staple! The main color is a beautiful burgundy with the stripe being a blush pink. These are two very popular colors for Fall. The 3/4 length sleeves will keep you warm in the Fall weather, but it would be easy to pair with a leather or jean jacket when it gets colder. The fit is great, especially considering it’s part of Arizon’s “Junior Plus” Line. Usually Jr Plus tends to run small, but I have not found that to be true at JCPenney. The material is very comfortable and easy to wear.
I paired this dress with a pair of black maternity leggings from Motherhood Maternity and black booties from ASOS.

Maybe it’s because I’m into simplicity being 34 weeks pregnant, but this has to be one of my favorite looks I’ve put together this Fall. The top is a pretty blush pink cold shoulder sweater. It’s deceptively warm so don’t let the light color fool you. The cut is perfect for me. I got this in a size 3X from JCPenney on sale and I plan on wearing it well through the winter!
I paired the shirt with these cropped destructed jeans from Torrid. These are in a size 26 to accommodate my growing baby belly. I also purchased these during a clearance sale a couple months ago. They feature a four button closure, which seems to be working better for me through my pregnancy than zippers have been.
The shoes are breathtaking!!! I had been eyeing this pair from ASOS for about a month and finally decided to purchase them. They are a size 11W and fit pretty well even with my slightly swollen feet. I like that they slip on rather than tie. I’m a huge fan of sparkly things and I think it’s a way to add interest to a simple outfit, especially when it’s somewhere unexpected like on your feet!

I had the opportunity to collaborate with JCPenney and I was so excited! I picked some spring looks from the Boutique+ line to review for you. If you’ve never tried JCPenney for plus size clothing, you’re missing out on chic outfits for great prices!
The first look is a teal trapeze dress. I ordered this in a size 2X. The Boutique+ line does tend to run a little bit on the larger side and since this dress is meant to fit a little looser, I sized down. I love the color, it is perfect for spring. The 3/4 length sleeves are great for the slightly warmer weather. The dress comes right to my knee, so there’s no need to wear leggings with it, but you could if you wanted to. The material is light but sturdy. Right now it is on sale for $30. You could dress this look up or down with the right shoes and accessories, which makes it a great addition to your spring wardrobe!

The next look is floral and so cute! This black bodysuit has the same criss-cross detail as the trapeze dress, which has been on trend for a long while. The elbow-length sleeves make it very easy to wear for a plus size girl and the sleeves are roomy for larger arms. There is a snap closure at the bottom of the bodysuit. The pencil skirt has a hint of mesh near the knee, making a typical floral skirt a little more edgy. The fabric is light and soft while still having some structure. This is the perfect laid-back but chic spring look! It’s also extremely comfortable! The bodysuit is $20 and the skirt is $30.

The final look is probably my favorite. I paired this Lacey black bralette with this gorgeous blush embroidered bomber jacket. The bralette does not have any stretch, so if you are more of an apple shape or have a larger chest, I’d recommend sizing up. The straps are adjustable, which I appreciate since I don’t have a large chest. It is only $20 and is a good staple piece that everyone should have in their closet. The bomber jacket feels so luxurious. The color is beautiful and very on trend for spring, as well as the embroidery detail. I got this in a 2X as well because I wanted to wear it open. A 3X would fit my hips better but then the top would be too large. The jacket is on sale for $45, which is a little more on the pricier side but it is 100% worth it. I can see myself wearing this jacket with so many different things in my closet!

If you haven’t checked out JCPenney, you should definitely give it a shot. Also check out their size chart to make sure you’re getting the best fit for you. These pieces were sent to me but the opinions are my own and this is not a sponsored post. Overall, the Boutique+ line is on trend, made of durable fabrics, and fits Curvy women very well. I highly recommend this line!
JCPenney Unboxing and Try On
I saw this shirt at JCPenney and I knew I had to buy it! I had seen this shirt around blogs and Instagram a few months ago, but when I found out it was on sale for $8, I knew it would be a perfect addition to my wardrobe. Curves really are trending! I feel like the Body positivity movement and general acceptance of curvy bodies is really growing. It’s so encouraging to see!
The shirt is from Ashley Nell Tipton’s Boutique+ line for JCPenney. This shirt is a 1X. Her line tends to run a little on the larger side, which is nice because that means more of a wide variety of women can wear these clothes! Since the line launched I believe some time in 2016, there are a lot of pieces on sale right now, which is perfect for my fellow budget-conscious fashionistas!
I paired the shirt with this black pant from Maurice’s. I got them in a size 4 because the size chart seemed to run a little on the smaller side. They have a leather strip detail down the front of the pant, making them have a little bit of an edge. Plus they were on sale for $10! I thought they looked great with my black booties and the jacket from GS Love. I was also able to wear my new bracelet from Wristacuffs and my new gold rings, both courtesy of Curvy Gurl subscription Box!
I did wear a white strappy bralette underneath from Curvy Sense. This bralette is so comfortable and was only $7! I like that it peeks out of the top in a few of the pictures, giving a tshirt a slightly more interesting detail! This outfit would be perfect for a night out when you want to be comfortable and still make a statement!

That’s right! Of all the wardrobe options I had, I chose to wear a tutu for Christday Day! Why is a 30 year old wearing a tutu, you may ask? Well, if you have to ask that question, you haven’t tried one on! There’s something so delicate but fun about wearing an all tulle skirt. If you haven’t put one on in your adult life, please do yourself a favor and try it. It’s an indescribable feeling of youth, fun, flirtiness, and chic-ness!
The tulle black skirt is from Society+, one of my new favorite companies. If you haven’t heard of them, I can’t say enough good things about them! They are a great company that promotes body positivity by using real diverse women as models, they have an honest size guarantee, and they love giving back to their customers with lots of giveaways and some good sales. The tulle skirt retails for $80, but I got it on sale during their Black Friday event. It was 40% off and I had a gift card on top of it! It’s well made with a very stretchy waist band. I ordered it in a size 22/24 and it fits me so well!
I paired the skirt with a gray cropped sweater by Ashley Nell Tipton from the Boutique+ line at JCPenney. It is so comfortable and I got so many compliments on the shoulder detail. The pearls and rhinestone shoulder is a show stopper! It really added a little glitz to my holiday look. This is a 2x and I believe the original price was $39. I got it on sale for about $27.
Just to finish off the look, I wore some black opaque tights from WalMart and my black booties from Shoe Department. Overall, I felt so good in this look and could not wait to share it with all of you! The most important part of fashion is to feel good in your clothes and remember to have fun!

My Review of Society+
My review of the Boutique+ line at JCPenney
Every once in a while, I will come across an outfit that is simple and just needs a few accessories to dress it up. This is definitely one of those looks for me.
The black dress is from Ashley Nell Tipton’s Boutique+ line at JCPenney. The fabric is so incredibly soft and gorgeous. It almost feels like a really light neoprene or a light scuba fabric. It also has a gorgeous rose gold zipper at the back. It also has pockets and we know I’m a sucker for a dress with pockets! I bought it on sale for about $30. I did get it in a 2x because this collection tends to run on the larger side.
I paired the dress with simple black leggings and black booties. I also wore a scalloped gold necklace and an embellished gold headband. When a dress is simple and beautiful, you only need a couple of accessories to tie the look together.
If you don’t know much about Ashley Nell Tipton, she was the Season 14 winner of Project Runway. I love this show and have watched it religiously almost every season. She was the only person on the show to ever do an all plus-size model collection for the finale. I think she’s an amazing designer and love that she wanted to design for larger women.
