Horizontal Stripes? Yes Please!

I have heard that plus sized women shouldn’t wear horizontal stripes because it makes you look wider. False! I have honestly never found this to be true. In my experience, it can accentuate your curves in a good way!

This dress from JCPenney is a Fall staple! The main color is a beautiful burgundy with the stripe being a blush pink. These are two very popular colors for Fall. The 3/4 length sleeves will keep you warm in the Fall weather, but it would be easy to pair with a leather or jean jacket when it gets colder. The fit is great, especially considering it’s part of Arizon’s “Junior Plus” Line. Usually Jr Plus tends to run small, but I have not found that to be true at JCPenney. The material is very comfortable and easy to wear.

I paired this dress with a pair of black maternity leggings from Motherhood Maternity and black booties from ASOS.

A Dash of Sparkle

Maybe it’s because I’m into simplicity being 34 weeks pregnant, but this has to be one of my favorite looks I’ve put together this Fall. The top is a pretty blush pink cold shoulder sweater. It’s deceptively warm so don’t let the light color fool you. The cut is perfect for me. I got this in a size 3X from JCPenney on sale and I plan on wearing it well through the winter!

I paired the shirt with these cropped destructed jeans from Torrid. These are in a size 26 to accommodate my growing baby belly. I also purchased these during a clearance sale a couple months ago. They feature a four button closure, which seems to be working better for me through my pregnancy than zippers have been.

The shoes are breathtaking!!! I had been eyeing this pair from ASOS for about a month and finally decided to purchase them. They are a size 11W and fit pretty well even with my slightly swollen feet. I like that they slip on rather than tie. I’m a huge fan of sparkly things and I think it’s a way to add interest to a simple outfit, especially when it’s somewhere unexpected like on your feet!

Super Affordable Maternity Clothes!

I’ve been working so hard to find more affordable plus size maternity brands to review! It’s tough out there because if something is available in plus sizes, the clothes end up being super expensive, and if they’re affordable then the brand only goes up to a size Large. It has been a struggle for me because there are so few brands making plus size maternity clothing! If I was a fashion designer, I’d probably start with Plus Size Maternity because there’s a demand for it and very little available.

Luckily, I was able to collaborate with a great affordable brand, Great Expectations Maternity. Their line is available at WalMart, making it super accessible to the masses! The three tops they sent to me are only $15 each, making it probably the most affordable maternity brand I’ve come across! Their clothes go from a size small to a 2XL. While I wish they went up to larger sizes like 3XL or 4XL, their 2XL did fit me well. So I’d say they are pretty true to size since I was wearing 2X shirts prior to being pregnant.

I got the same style shirt in gray and a blush pink color with a fun pattern. Both of these feature a small keyhole on the neckline and a little tassel tie detail. They are made with an empire waist, which is very flattering for a pregnant woman. These tops will be perfect for Fall and early Winter because of the long sleeves. The fabric is very soft and comfortable.

The last shirt is going to be perfect for the Holiday season because of the bright red hue. The last detail on the shoulders is simple but gorgeous, making it more than just a plain boring shirt. There is some rouching along the sides, making sure there’s plenty of room for a pregnant belly. This is a great piece to wear for comfort while still looking stylish.

Fall Plus Size Maternity Necessities

When I picked my most recent items from Pink Blush, I really aimed to give my readers a variety of items that would be perfect for Fall. I wanted to show you the diverse options available as well as give you some style inspiration for the slightly cooler weather.

The first item is a long sleeve gray shirt with black lace on the shoulders and collar. The lace makes this shirt dressy enough to wear to work, but it is soft and will keep you comfy and warm in the cool weather. My only issue with this piece was the length, so I did tuck the bottom up to give me a better overall proportion. I paired this shirt with a pair of burgundy Ponte pants and scrappy black sandals.

The second item was a gorgeous floral dress. I actually wore this for my baby shower and got so many compliments on it! The hemline is slightly higher in the front and longer in the back, but the front hits about two inches below my knee. There is a flattering overlapping neckline to emphasize the chest and an elastic high waist to show off your curves. I tied the sash in a bow to the left side to give the look some a-symmetry. Although this is short sleeves, the colors of the floral print are Fall inspired. The navy blue and orange give this dress an Autumn flair.

The last item is a Hospital robe. I don’t feel like any mom-to-be wants to spend her whole Hospital stay in a boring medical gown. This robe is perfect for being comfortable, looking chic, and still having the freedom to be nursing-friendly. The material is very soft and light. The white lace is a nice touch to make you still feel like you haven’t lost your fashion sense. It’s always my opinion that when you look good, you feel good. I’m definitely packing this in my hospital bag!

It’s Finally Fall!

Cooler Fall weather is finally here and I could not be happier! Not only is it my favorite time of year but it means I can break out some cute cozy clothes. It’s also great, being almost 30 weeks pregnant, that I won’t be sweating in the summer heat anymore!

This look is early Fall perfection. This gray Rue 21 hoodie has beautiful rose embroidery on the hood. Embroidery and florals are still on trend going into the Fall. The sweatshirt is cropped and the neckline has an exaggerated overlap. I wore a plain white tank underneath just to give myself some extra length but you could definitely pair it with a pair of high waisted jeans. The clutch is also from Rue 21. It’s black with some simple silver studs, making it perfect to use with almost any outfit.

The capri distressed jeans and sandals are both from Torrid. I believe the jeans are Boyfriend cut, which fit me really well. I love that the distressing isn’t too overwhelming but still add to the overall style of the look. My only complaint is that the rolled cuff is not sewn, so when I wash these jeans I have to re-roll them before putting them on. But they are extremely comfortable and cute, so I can deal with it!

Adore Me Review

If you’ve never heard of Adore Me, you are missing out on some fantastic things! They carry sizes small-4X in swimwear, lingerie, bras, panties, activewear, loungewear/sleepwear, and now beauty too! They do have a subscription VIP option where you get something every month, usually for a discounted rate, but it’s not a requirement. You can always choose the pay-as-you-go option and purchase pieces whenever you’d like. If you sign up for their emails, they notify you of sales quite often!

To date I’ve tried their bras, underwear, sleepwear, and activewear and have yet to be disappointed. The quality is great and once you know your proper size, the fit is usually perfect as well. I will say that you should consult their size chart before ordering because I do have to size up in their pants and underwear. The bras have been true to size in my experience though. They even have nursing bras!

I will include a few pictures from my current order from Adore Me. They did send me these pieces for advertisement purposes but the opinions are my own and this is not a sponsored post. I’ll link all the items I received below as well as my video reviewing each piece in case you’re interested!

End of Summer Swimsuit Review

Obviously, it is the end of the summer, which means a few things:

1. You may be able to pick up some swimsuits for SUPER cheap and keep them for next year

2. This review will be helpful if you’re going on vacation to a warmer climate over the next six months or so

3. This information may be something to keep in mind when shopping next summer!

I’m doing this review now because I was finally able to wear all of the suits I got this year. I live in PA, so unless I’m on vacation or am visiting a friend with a pool, there aren’t many occasions to wear a swimsuit. We will go from cheapest to most expensive.

This was actually the first one I purchased this past year. It is a great one piece from Rue 21. The cut out in the front and the strappy open back give it more interest than a plain one piece. I usually am uncomfortable showing so much of my back. But there’s something about how the back is made that made me feel very secure in it. The top straps are adjustable, which I love because I don’t have a large chest. There is a little bit of padding in the chest, but that is removable if that’s not your cup of tea. The pattern on top is so pretty and goes great with the burgundy bottom. This suit definitely draws the eye upward, making it great for a pear or apple shape. I believe this one was around $30 and it is in a size 3X.

I must have been into one pieces this year because I fell in love with this one from Torrid. I love the pattern on the top and the pop of color. My only complaint about the fit is that I had to size up to a size 4 because of how restrictive their swimsuits are, so the chest is a little large on me. It’s not super noticeable, but I wish the cups were a tad bit smaller. The straps on this one are adjustable and convertible. So if you want cross cross straps, a halter, or straight front and back straps, you can make that happen. I happened to catch this one during a swim sale back in April. I got it for around $65. I was willing to pay a little more for it because the quality is amazing and I know it will last for years.

This black and white retro suit is the only two piece I purchased this year. It is also from Torrid and I got this one on sale as well. I believe I paid about $75 for this one. That is normally way more than I’d invest in a swimsuit, but when I tried it on in store, I knew I had to buy it. I did buy it prior to knowing I was pregnant, so it doesn’t fit quite as well as it did in store, but I made it work. The top has a built in bra, which makes you feel very secure. It has the same adjustable and convertible straps the one piece has. Since it is two pieces, I got a size 3 in the top and a size 4 on the bottom. The chest on this fits me better because I was able to get a smaller top. The material is slightly textures and it has an adorable scallop detail. I really love this one!

The last swimsuit was not purchased by me. I won it via an Instagram giveaway from Becca Etc Swim. It’s so gorgeous. I believe this one was around $130, which is crazy to me! But it’s an amazing one piece swimsuit. The color is one of my favorites and the lace is delicate but durable. I’m sure if you bought a cheaper lace suit, it would probably fall apart rather quickly. Their website does have cheaper options though, so make sure you don’t overlook this brand. This was in a size 3X.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post. I’ll link websites below and you can either see if they have any swim sales or tuck the info away for next year. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

The Liebster Award

Hey everyone! Exciting news! I was nominated by Camilla Francis of Lavender Luva for the Liebster Award!

For those of you not in the blogging world, this award is given my fellow bloggers to help spread love and encouragement amongst the blogger community.

Part of my end of the bargain is that I will answer the following questions and then nominate a few bloggers and pass it on.
• Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging to share my love of fashion with other women like me- plus sized women who are on a budget but still want to look good. I know a lot of times it’s hard to find new brands what will fit properly so I wanted to aid in the process and help people discover new brands.

• What is your goal as a blogger?

My goal is to spread body positivity at any size and inspire women to push themselves out of their comfort zone to discover new silhouettes and styles.

• Is blogging your hobby or a job ?

It is currently a second, part-time job? Haha. I have a daytime full time job as a medical coder at a hospital. I blog in my free time.

• How do you promote your blog ?

Mostly on social media and through networking with other bloggers.

• Do you make money off your blog ? If yes how do you do it ?

Not off my blog because of the restrictions of WordPress. But I do make money off my YouTube channel via AdSense.

• Have you ever won other blog awards ?

No, this is my first nomination for my blog.

• What is your advice for new and upcoming bloggers ?

Don’t overthink and don’t compare yourself to others. All of us had to start somewhere- with only what we had and with 0 followers. Every blog grows at its own pace.

• Do you blog on YouTube ? If yes,how many subscribers do you have ?

Yes, I’ve actually been uploading to YouTube more recently than to my blog. I have about 1,050 subscribers right now.

The bloggers I nominate are:

Kelsey Woggn- Bakersfield Beauty Blogger

Maya LaBoo- The Pink Caboodle

Nicole Vick- Style Vicksen

Galen Harris- Your Noir Diva

Brittney Mason- The Pretty Plus
